urge for sports activity among the disabled, and has created a strong following with more than just handicapped athletes as well, though primarily played by those persons with disabilities this is not always the case.

Sometimes it is frequent for a group of people to play this version of basketball even without being handicapped, and at times there are even groups of enthusiasts that play mixed games of this kind of game, with there also being a ratings system in place that allows players to harmonize their varying levels of disability on an equal basis.  All teams that compete above the recreational level use this ratings system to accomplish accurate evaluation of each player’s functional abilities, classification is an international regulation for playing basketball, and where competitions restrict the particular groupings in a single game altogether.

Otherwise, basketball is still basketball at its’ most integral parts, following most of the same rules and regulations with a ten-foot basketball hoop and a standard basketball court layout, but the exceptions to these standards are those that take into account the modification needed to be considerate for those that require the wheelchair.  This version of basketball has an intense international competition level of credit with some of the main widely known venues being the Paralympic Games, an occasion that showcases the skills of some of the best athletes in the same city as the Olympics except two weeks afterwards.
